Incase of Fatigue...Remember These Three Things

Do you ever feel uncertain? Fatigued? Frustrated? Ever grow tired of uncertainty? Want to see God's miracles before you step out?

Surely our forefathers did. I think about Joshua as he marched around Jericho. The seventh time around the city's fortified walls, did he wonder if God would deliver? Did he doubt if he had heard God correctly? Or, think about Abraham. What monopolized Abraham's thoughts as he awaited his promised son, Isaac? At 75 he had to think, really God? But, at a 100 he had to think, no way God! Or, consider God's people.  What did they think about during the five hundred years of silence existing between the Old and New Testament? They had to wonder, just like us, when will our savior come? Where is He? Does He still care?

Friend, I sense a great distress growing all across the land, as the economy waivers the people of God struggle to hold fast. God's people are weary. We long to see God's deliverance. We need His intervention!

Today, as I prayed and listened intently to hear God's Spirit speak, my thoughts turned to Revelation 3:7-12. It say, "These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name...Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it..." (NIV)

As I read this passage, I felt compelled to encourage you: Don't be discouraged. Don't give up. Persevere. Endure. Press on. God sees you. He hasn't forgotten you.

If you are like me, it's easy to get distracted, lose focus, and feel overwhelmed. But consider the words God gave us in Revelation chapter 3. God has laid a door before each one of us that NO ONE can shut...The hope of our salvation...The promise of our future...The truth that GOD FULFILLS ALL of HIS promises.

Today, I want to encourage you to remember:
  1. God keeps His promises. What has He whispered to you? What has He promised that He will do? He is the God who opens doors that no man can shut and shuts doors that no man can open. Trust Him and let your strength be renewed.
  2. Live for eternity. Revelation 3 highlights a reminder that as we keep his commands and endure patiently He will deliver us and keep us. When I remember that HE IS COMING SOON, I find strength for my soul. His return empowers me to press on. The truth of His returns spurs my soul to endure and live faithful, knowing that I am not living for myself but for the ONE WHO holds my future secure.
  3. You are not alone. God sees you. He knows your deeds. He knows you have little strength...but He sees your faithfulness. Friend, God is in control. And, thought you have little strength, He has promised you a secure future.
