Do You See Giants or God's Provision?

"But My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of it." (Numbers 14:24, NASB)

When all of Israel waited for the final report, every spy rejected entering in against the Amalekites and Canaanites, except for Joshua and Caleb.

While the majority of spies saw the vastness of giants in the land and feared entering in, Joshua and Caleb saw the ample provisions and possibilities of the Lord. They saw a land flowing with milk and honey and grapes.

In Numbers 14:7-9 Joshua and Caleb reported to the entire Israelite assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them." (NIV)

And Israel rejoiced, right? No. NOT exactly. Actually, the whole assembly talked about stoning them. WHY? Hard to say...but if I had to guess...Fear hindered their faith. After all the miracles, provisions, and faithfulness God demonstrated, Israel still had no concept of WHO GOD WAS.

Today, we have a choice before us. When we survey the land, do we see giants or God's provision? When impossibilities rise against us, do we look for someone to stone or do we trust in God. Do we recall His faithfulness or cower to fear?

If you're like me, it's easy to shout from the sidelines...

"Go in...Possess the land! What's the matter with you? Don't you remember God's faithfulness? Didn't He bring you out of Egypt's captivity?"

Yet another thing entirely to inhabit my own Promised Land...to believe God's promises...to press on when all feels lost...

So, today, I choose to remember WHO I SERVE. I choose to proclaim His Promises. I choose to enter in and claim my "promised land".

In Joshua 24:15, Joshua challenges the people of God saying, "...choose you this day whom ye will serve...as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (KJV)

Today, I encourage you to join me and declare the same!

PRAYER: Father, empower us to step forward into the Land YOU have Promised. Fill us with faith! Grant us Your favor. And give us the abundance of Your provision. We choose YOU! In Jesus name, amen.
