When I Feel Like Giving Up...I DO!

Sometimes, I feel like giving up... retreating. and running away from all the heaviness of responsibility and endless tasks. In these moments, when "I feel like giving up" ... I DO! LOL!

NO. NOT physically. NOT in effort. BUT... IN OWNERSHIP! Stay with me...and hear the central truth of what I'm sharing...

• I GIVE UP all the thoughts that make it about me and remind my spirit that "ONLY GOD CAN!"
• I GIVE UP all the accusations regarding my worth and choose to embrace WHO GOD SAYS I AM.
• I GIVE UP all the fear of failure and meditate on the truth of what true SUCCESS is --obedience to GOD. Finally,
• I GIVE UP all the weights that condemn my abilities and surrender my LACK of POWER in an exchange for GOD's.

In 2 Chronicles 15:1-7 we read: "For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law. But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them. In those days it was not safe to travel about, for all the inhabitants of the lands were in great turmoil. One nation was being crushed by another and one city by another, because God was troubling them with every kind of distress. But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." (NIV)

Friends, our hope (in times of distress) is to turn to the Lord, the God of Israel, our Savior. When we seek after Him we WILL find comfort and strength.

I feel the most fatigue when I "OWN" the results...when I shoulder the responsibility of the outcome of my efforts.The invitation God extends to us is to walk with HIM. To follow Him. To surrender everything to Him. We do NOT walk alone. We are NOT left to accomplish in our OWN power. HE IS NEAR.

The other day, my son strained to carry out a heavy bag of trash. He strained. He pulled. He tried to move it but couldn't. As a parent, I quickly rushed to him and removed what he couldn't.

Friends, when we can't pick it up...GOD can. When we can't press on...He carries us.

So, today, if you feel like giving up...DO...BUT NOT physically, NOT in effort...BUT in surrender to the One Who CAN DO ALL THINGS.

Remember you are NOT ALONE. Isaiah 43:2-3: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." (NIV)
