A Word of Reassurance

I love how intimate and personal our God is...
Today, as I reflected on the monstrous tasks that lay ahead for the day, I sensed God encouraging me to not worry. I reflected on His Word found in Joshua 1:5. God promised Joshua "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (NIV)

WHEW. Let that soak in for a moment. God is NEAR. He walks with us. He leads us. He NEVER leaves us.
I don't know about you, but if you're like me it's easy to know God's Word and another thing, entirely, to embrace it. I mean seriously, how would I live, really, if I truly embraced the truth GOD was with me?

If Jesus were visibly standing by my side and holding my hand...

Would I love others more compassionately?
Serve my family more humbly?
Would I live less fearful?
Would I rest more peaceful?
Would I make decisions with more confidence?
Would I ever struggle in my faith?

God's presence comforted and reminded me. As I meditated on Joshua 1, I sensed God promise... Julie, I AM with you. I will never leave you.

I felt Him encourage me as He did Joshua in Joshua 1:4-9: "No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. "Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." (NIV)

PRAYER: Father, strengthen our hearts. Encourage our spirit. Fill us with Your presence. Comfort. Fill. And help us to bring You glory in all that we do. Thank You for Your promise. May we feel Your presence today in all that we do!
