Sometimes my heart wrestles with the delicate balance of faithful stewardship and ownership. I tend to pick up the responsibility of outcome when God merely calls me to obedience. (That's why I am so grateful for His endless GRACE and COUNSEL!) Today, as I prayed, I sensed the Holy Spirit encouraging me:
Though your tasks are many, My power is limitless.
Though your heart grows weary, I will uphold and strengthen you.
Do NOT concern yourself with the endless lists before you; instead,
Seek Me, and I will empower you to do all that is necessary. WHEW. Do you sense His gentleness and loving kindness in those thoughts?
Friends, how is your soul, today? Have you taken time to relinquish your control in exchange for His amazing rest? When we surrender our abilities in exchange for His, we discover strength for our soul and an indescribable peace; there is a sweetness found in the remembrance of WHO GOD IS.
Aside from God's GRACE we cannot even take our next breath...He alone is our strength...He alone is good.
As I continued to listen for His voice, this morning, He filled my thoughts with the following:
- Psalm 34: 8-10, 15, 17-19—“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing…The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry…The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all." (NIV)
- 2 Chronicles 16:9, "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.
Friends, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! God is near. He is faithful. Today, I pray we rediscover the incredible joy of living surrendered in His presence.
