Hope in the Midst of Darkness

Every time I minister overseas, I am overwhelmed with what I witness. I see eyes full of hunger. Desperate for a glimpse of hope. Longing that cries out...HELP ME...DO YOU CARE?

Today as we ministered in a methodone clinic, God granted many opportunities to witness of His great love. Person after person waited in a small room, listening and anwserng my questions. Each time I shared, God provided a window of opportunity to naturally share about His great love and why I was there.

As I shared, witnessing, and extending the Love of Christ...GOD showed up and did what only HE can do. He touched the human heart and softened it from all the hardness that had built up around it. He tore down language barriers with the Presence of His Spirit.

One man turned (as he was leaving) and in Russian said "Thank you very much...You have given me hope!" While I prayed for him for healing, he said..."I felt heat go all through my leg as you prayed." God had touched him. He ministered to him. In the midst of a government drug rehabilitation/administration building...in the midst of this man's addiction...God moved by His grace and touched this man powerfully.

Friends, I want to encourage you today. God doesn't wait for us to get things perfect before He reaches and touches our life. He provides hope in the midst of our sin...in the midst of our desperation...in the midst of darkness. His light scatters the darkness and provides us with HOPE!

So, be of great courage...the Lord is near. Psalm 34 says, "The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those crushed in spirit." So don't ever give up. God is near.

PRAYER: Father, minister to us in the midst of our desperateness. Fill us with strength. Touch us by Your Spirit. Fill us with Your Hope! In Jesus name we pray...amen!

Go On...Take It Personal

As a kid, I always hated hearing those words..."nothing personal. I just don't..." Regardless of what followed, I some how always took the rejection personally. As I've aged, I realize somethings are meant to be personal...other things arent. Sometimes people will   love us...sometimes they won't. BUT...one thing I am learning and applying more and more...one thing meant to be taken personal is God's Word.

I know this may sound simple but if practiced practically can revolutionize our relationship with God and empower us beyond our greatest imagination. I believe God wants us to take Scripture Personally. Oh of course we have to take it within the historical context and allow the Holy Spirit to apply it to our individual lives...But there is power when we pray the Scriptures...there is power when we read the Scriptures and take them personally.

For example, this morning as I read, God made it personal to me. I read from Isaian 44:21, it says, "Remember these things, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant. O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me. I have wiped out your trangressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you." As I read this passage, I sensed the Lord saying listen to this Julie and "TAKE IT PERSONAL."

So, I read it again...and interjected to make it personal...I encourage you to do the same...to take God's word personal. "Remember these things, my daughter, Julie, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant. JULIE, you will not be forgotten by Me. I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you."

WOW. I am His servant? He has formed me? I will not be forgotten by Him?

What a perfect word for me this morning. But it's not just this passage of Scripture...personalizing Scripture is for every day. Verses like "If any man be in Christ he is a new creation" can be used to fight the enemy's accusations and used as a weapon, when personalized to say, "I am in CHRIST...and I AM a new creation...old things have passed away...behold ALL things have become NEW." Personalizing God's promises and applying His Word Personally makes devotional reading become life!!!

So, today, I want to encourage you...GO ON...TAKE GOD'S WORD PERSONAL! That's how He intended it!

Don't Worry...I Got You Covered

A couple of years ago, my husband Greg and our son Joshua went to a father son retreat. During the outing, one of the other boys there (about 12 years of age) started bullying Joshua (who was only 5 or 6 at the time). He pushed him pretty hard (for no reason) and proceeded to do it again...that is until he got a glimpse of Joshua's daddy. Greg quickly stood behind Joshua and made it pretty clear that if he saw the boy so much as look at our son crosswise...he'd be contending with someone a whole lot bigger... the boy quickly backed away.

"...I will contend the one who contends with you..." (Isaiah 49:25)

Wow. Now that's a promise! Can't you just hear God whispering..."Don't worry...I got you covered."

It comforts me to think that as Satan comes against me...he quickly backs off like the big bully did when he saw Joshua's daddy standing behind him.

Isaiah 49 is my theme passage of Scripture for this year. I read it several times each week and love how God promises that He will contend with those who contend with us and that "Those who hopefully wait for (Him) will not be put to shame." (Is. 49:23)

Friends, we are not alone. God is with us. And we will not be put to shame. He is our strength. Our hope. Our FATHER. So, no matter what comes against us...Our God is Bigger...Our God is stronger...Our God is higher than any other. (Don't you just love that Chris Tomlin song?)

So what giants are you facing? What opposes you? What contends against you? What big bully is pushing and shoving you around? Stand your ground. You will not be defeated. After all, "If God is for us, who can stand against us?" (Romans 8:31)

Today, I'm praying you witness first hand the provision and protection of our God and that the peace of God fills your heart as you embrace His promise..."I will contend with the one who contends with you."

PS. Keep me in your prayers. I preach 3 times today. I need good rest. Also, my luggage still hasn't arrived...pray it makes it here safely today and that I have it by tonight.

PRAYER: Father, thank you that we are not alone. Thank you that you are near. Thank you that YOU contend with those who contend with us. Be our provision and may we witness first hand your mighty provisions and protection. We give you all our love. Use us for your glory today. In Jesus name...amen.

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff!

Well, we made it. My luggage is missing but we arrived safe and sound. It is so good to get caught up with old friends and just spend time together. As we sat together this evening eating some incredible homemade broccoli soup (thanks Marianna)...I chose to put all the struggles of the trip behind me and enjoy the fellowship of dear friends.

Once I did...my missing luggage...was no big deal. The flight that I nearly missed...no longer concerned me.

My husband often encourages me with "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff." After all, nothing is to big or small for God. And scripture says He works all things together for our good.

Isn't funny how our thinking shapes our feelings and influences our circumstances? Jesus said, do not worry about tomorrow and within that same passage encourages us to seek first His kingdom and everything else will be taken care of.

What do you tend to think on? All the negative happenings of life or the endless possibilities God lays before us? Today, I want to =encourage you. God has great plans for your life. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy...but Jesus came that you might have life and have it to the full!

Ephesians 2:10, promises that we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. So today, don't get sidetracked with all the tedious tasks that attempt to discourage you.

So, today, I simply want to encourage you to enjoy life. It's time to go to sleep and get over this jet-lag...but until tomorrow, when I write more, I want to encourage you to Dream Big. Laugh Often. And remember, God's got it all under control (even when the airport loses your luggage). Don't sweat the small stuff. God is good and He is watching out for you.

I Shouldn't Be Alive...

The other day my family and I watched a show called I shouldn't be Alive. Ever seen it?

On the particular episode we watched, two teens were stranded in the ocean for 10 days without food or water. On two separate occasions boats came near but failed to notice them and passed them by. Tired and delirious the boys lost all hope. Within hours of their certain death, by chance, a fishing boat discovered them. The captain pulled their near lifeless bodies aboard the vessel, administered water to them, and called for immediate help.

Friends, do you feel adrift at sea...tired...delirious...hopeless?

God promises in Isaiah 46:4, "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." (NIV)

I know at different times in my life, I have felt isolated...abandoned...forsaken...BUT...God will NOT and will NEVER leave us.

Today, I sense such a heaviness in my spirit. NOT for myself or my concerns...but for many of you who are reading this post. I feel such a weight and burden to pray for you...and compelled to encourage you... DON'T EVER GIVE UP! God is the God of the impossible. He's the God who speaks to a valley of dry bones to come to life and it does. (Ezekiel 37) He's the God who opens blind eyes and sets the captive free from the darkest depths of despair. He shuts the mouths of lions. He provides manna in the desert.

Friends...let me get real personal. A year ago, Greg and I went without an income for 1 year...BUT GOD PROVIDED. I have experienced God's deliverance many times. There were times I felt lost at sea, just like the boys in the show. I felt like hope would pass me by and leave me adrift at sea to my inevitable doom... BUT...through it all GOD was near. He never left me. He sustained me. He RESCUED me. He came searching for me in a bar and whispered, "There's no where you can run that my grace won't find you still." He promised me (when I felt unqualified, unworthy, and useless) "I have called you as a light to the Nations...as a vessel of honor...And, the things you thought disqualified you, will be the very platform from which you stand."

Today, God is near to you. His word promises, "I will not forget you. Behold I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands." (Isaiah 49:6)

So if you feel adrift at sea...hopeless...and as though death is imminent...TAKE COURAGE...JESUS is heading your way...cry out to Him and He will pull you to safety and rescue you!

PRAYER: Father, I feel such a tremendous burden today as I write this post. I know there are so many hurting, desperate, hopeless people...please fill them with Your Spirit. Move on their behalf. Fill them with HOPE once again. Rescue them. Heal them. Sustain them according to YOUR LOVING KINDNESS. In Jesus name I pray...amen.

Wait...Wait...Wait!

Today, my dear friend Jennifer White (whom I've only had the privilege of meeting on line) shared a bit about my call to the Ukraine. Thought I'd share it with you to encourage you...GOD always fulfills His promises...sometimes we simply need to wait!)

In 1994, God prompted my heart that I would minister in Kiev, in the Ukraine. Who would have ever thought it would take nearly sixteen years before I actually travelled there? But, that’s often how God’s promises work. He calls us, commissions us, and then graciously commands us to wait. Wait for His refining. Wait for His divine connections. Wait. Wait. Wait.

Abraham waited nearly 25 years before Isaac. Simeon waited for his hope to behold The Messiah. And, each one of us, wait for promises to be fulfilled. But, our hope will not be disappointed. Isaiah 49:23 says, “…those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” (NIV) and Isaiah 40:31 encourages us that “those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

What are you hoping for? What are you waiting on?

Allow me to encourage you today, God continues to teach me that HE CAN BE TRUSTED, He never disappoints, and He is never late.

Isaiah 46:9-10 says, “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”

This year marks the second year of ministering in the Ukraine…and I suspect it’s just the beginning. Friend, don't ever give up. Never stop hoping. Wait patiently! Remember God's promise, "Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame." ( Isaiah 49:23)

God is Real and Answers Prayers!

Ok, as you all know...I AM NOT a name it claim it prosperity type teacher...however...sometimes we forget that GOD IS GOOD and that HE anwers prayers.

Matthew 21:22 says, "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (NIV)

Today, let your faith be confident in WHO GOD IS!

God describes faith, time and time again, in His word. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." In Hebrews 11:6 He reminds us that, "without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (NIV)

What do you have need of? NOT GREED OF!


Today, I want to encourage you to let your requests be made known to God. He hears and answers prayers. He is good. He is faithful. He is ALL POWERFUL. Nothing is impossible with Him.

Scripture promises time and time again that God will give us all we need.

"Do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' ... your heavenly Father knows that you need them... seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:31-34, NIV)

Matthew 7:9-12, "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" (NIV)

OK...Ok...Ok...I know I'm using a lot of Scripture today...but these are simply a scratch on the surface of the promises contained in God's Word. In other words friend, you are NOT alone. God is real and he answers prayers. So...don't be afraid to ask. Quit worrying about it and pray about it! Prayer works! :)

PRAYER: Father fill us with Your Spirit. We long to please You and honor You with our life. Use us for Your glory. Provide for our every need. Grant us favor with men, YOUR FAVOR. As Jabez prayed, enlarge our dwelling place. Enlarge our circle of influence. Prosper us. May all of our friends and family follow you. Restore our relationships. Move on our behalf. Thank You Lord for hearing us...thank You for Your mercy, grace, and provision. In Jesus name, amen.

Nothing But the Truth...

I love those court room scenes where the witness puts there hand on the Bible and solemnly swears "to tell the truth...the whole truth...and nothing less than the truth...so help my God."

Oh if only I had that same tenacity to bravely declare the whole truth in my day to day routine and combatted every self-defeating thought with the truth...the whole truth...and nothing less than the truth...so help my God!

Jesus said, "You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32) So, when the enemy attacks and whispers his lies, it is the truth that sets us free.

It is the truth that "God is close to the broken hearted and saves those crushed in spirit" (Psalm 32:18) that fills us with hope and conquers the enemy's accusation that, "God doesn't really care about you...if He did you would be in the situation you're in."

It is the truth that "God will never leave us or forsake us" (Deuteronomy 31:8) that empowers us to overcome feelings of abandonment and fear.

It is the truth that "God has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3) that fills us with the courage to press on...even when all the powers of hell seem to be un-leashed against us.

Friend, today, I want to encourage you to hold fast to the truth...the whole truth...and nothing less than the truth...so help your God. Remember Who You Serve. God is good regardless of our circumstances. His love for us never fails...even when we feel smothered by darkness.

"I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39, NIV)

So, DREAM BIG, LAUGH OFTEN, AND REMEMBER...GOD'S GOT IT ALL UNDER CONTROL.

PRAYER: Father help us to take every thought captive to the truth of Your Word and empower us to hold fast to You. Your word truly brings life and hope to our soul. Fill us with the TRUTH of Your love. May it fill our mind completely and push out ever fear. May it fill our soul and encourage us with the TRUTH that Your love for us never fails. May we walk in the fullness of Your Truth and fulfill the purpose You have created us for...In Jesus name, amen.

Do You See Giants or Promise?

"But My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of it." (Numbers 14:24, NASB)

When all of Israel waited for the final report, every spy rejected entering in against the Amalekites and Canaanites, except for Joshua and Caleb.

While the majority of spies saw the vastness of giants in the land and feared entering in, Joshua and Caleb saw the ample provisions and possibilities of the Lord. They saw a land flowing with milk and honey and grapes

In Numbers 14:7-9 Joshua and Caleb reported to the entire Israelite assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them." (NIV)

And Israel rejoiced, right? No. NOT exactly. Actually, the whole assembly talked about stoning them. WHY? Hard to say...but if I had to guess...Fear hindered their faith. After all the miracles, provisions, and faithfulness God demonstrated, Israel still had no concept of WHO GOD WAS.

Today, we have a choice before us. When we survey the land, do we see giants or God's provision? When impossibilities rise against us, do we look for someone to stone or do we trust in God. Do we recall His faithfulness or cower to fear?

If you're like me, it's easy to shout from the sidelines..."Go in...Possess the land! What's the matter with you? Don't you remember God's faithfulness? Didn't He bring you out of Egypt's captivity?"

Yet another thing entirely to inhabit my own Promised Land. So, today, I choose to remember WHO I SERVE. I choose to proclaim His Promises. I choose to enter in and claim my "promised land".

In Joshua 24:15, Joshua challenges the people of God saying, "...choose you this day whom ye will serve...as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (KJV)

Today, I encourage you to join me and declare the same!

PRAYER: Father, empower us to step forward into the Land YOU have Promised. Fill us with faith! Grant us Your favor. And give us the abundance of Your provision. We choose YOU! In Jesus name, amen.

Being Under Satan's Yoke...B.U.S.Y

Hebrews 10:25, Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (NIV)


Ever get so busy you stop being a good friend?
 
At a conference my dear friend Tammy Maltby shared that being B.U.S.Y is Being Under Satan's Yoke.Her acronym has stayed with me, and I have a sneaky suspicion that the enemy wants to busy our lives in an attempt to isolate us from one another. If he can trick us into being so busy "doing" ministry that we forget to hug our kids, make that needed call to a friend who is hurting, or steal our energy and joy...He wins.
 
So, how about it...Who do you trust? Who is your confidant? Who inspires you to be greater than you could ever be on your own? Do you make time for friendships? Ever call someone just because you want to let them know you care?

Deuteronomy 32:30 alludes that one can put a 1,000 to flight and 2 can put 10,000 to flight. Friends, there's power in fellowship. I read a story of a State Fair Horse Pulling Contest. At this fair, one horse was recorded as pulling 9,000 pounds. Wow...now that's powerful...but when that same horse linked with another horse of equal stature...they pulled 27,000 pounds. 

1 Corinthians 12:14-19 says, "Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be." (NIV)

Friends, let's step into the design God has for us and link arms with one another. Remember the acronym of T.E.A.M? Together We Achieve More! So today, I want to encourage you. You count. You have a part to play in the body of Christ. You really do make a difference. Let's link arms with one another and make a difference in this world.

Today, I challenge you to choose to find 3 people that you can encourage, bless, or help. Maybe send a note of encouragement. Maybe share the truth of the gospel. Maybe donate financial support to their ministry. Invite them to lunch. Be a friend. Simply choose 3 people that you truly appreciate and let them know what they mean to you; encourage them in their life purpose!

I wonder what would truly happen if we linked together with other Christians...how much could we pull together..."1...1000"..."2....10,000"..."A 1000...?"

Hebrews 10:25, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (NIV)

PRAYER: Father, help us to encourage one another to be all that You have called us to be. Send us friends we can encourage and send us friends who encourage us. Above all Lord, may we honor You with our life. Help us to never be too busy to spend time being a friend. In Jesus name, amen.

Defeat Satan's 1/2 Truths

"STOP!!!!!!!!" I shouted...yes...and it was a shout.

Ever get to the point where you just cant take anymore? C'mon now. Be honest. :)

Over the last two years, our family moved 2 times...across multiple State lines...all across the United States. In the midst of our last move (taking us from Texas to Florida) I busily packed boxes, while the kids bickered back and forth. Fighting over video games. Arguing about what they would watch on tv. Complaining loudly about being bored.

"Mommy, Sommer won't play with me".

"Mommy, Joshua won't let me alone."

"Mommy, Courtney won't let me in the bathroom."

Each time I lovingly (but with mounting frustrations) tried to teach my kids the biblical principles of loving one another and prefering one anothers needs over their own...that was until their last "Mommy..." took place and I snapped. And thus the shout of... "STOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPP!"

Friends, today in my spirit I sense the same wrestling, the same mounting frustrations, the same urgency to shout... STOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPP! Enough is enough. No. Not with my kids. Not because we're moving again (LOL...thank goodness). BUT a SPRITUAL AWAKENING of "STOOOOOPPPPPP!" to all the busyness and distractions of the enemy. Stop to his barrage of endless accusations..."You CAN'T do that! You'll NEVER accomplish that it's impossible. You're NOT good enough!"

Ever notice Satan speaks half-truths? He never shares the whole story.

1/2 Truth= Satan is correct..."I" can't  Whole Truth= BUT GOD CAN!
Today, let's hold fast to the truth of Philippians 4:13 and declare, "I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

1/2 Truth="You'll NEVER accomplish that it's impossible."... WHOLE TRUTH=Nothing is impossible with God.
Today, let's hold fast to the truth of Matthew 19:26 and declare, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible ."

1/2 Truth="You're not good enough." ... WHOLE TRUTH=It's not our righteousness or our goodness but GOD'S!
Today, let's hold fast to the truth of Romans 8:28-39 and declare, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified . What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."   No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Friends, what accusations does the enemy shout at you? What looming fears and 1/2 truths hover over your head? Today, take hold of the WHOLE TRUTH and when necessary don't be afraid to shout... "STOP!" It works.  :)

PRAYER: Father, fill us with Your truth and the fullness of Your Word. You said we overcome through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You for our salvation. Empower us to hold fast to the truth...the WHOLE truth and Nothing Less than the truth...In Jesus name we pray. AMEN!

"Head Over Heels In Love"

When Jesus was asked, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment." (Matthew 22:36-38, NIV)

As I read this passage today I became more intrigued by its implications. Love Him with all of my heart, soul, and mind...So...I research "heart, soul, and mind" on my PC Study Bible. As I read further, my heart filled with more and more excitement. Descriptive words like "breath, soul, spirit, deep thoughts, imagination, and understanding" all stirred my emotions and thoughts.

Do I love God that much? Do I love Him enough that every breath is spent for Him? What do I meditate on? Do I freely give Him my physical, spiritual, and mental being? Do I give him my deepest thoughts and greatest imaginations?

When I first met my husband and fell in love I thought I knew what love was. But over the years my love for him grew. I love discovery the different parts of his personality. I love the strength I feel when I'm with him. I love that as the years go by, I know his thoughts without a word being spoken. He has captured my heart, my soul, my mind.

My pursuit of God is strangely similar. When I first encountered Him and gave Him my life...I loved Him. But as the years go by, I realize greater depths of Who He is. I love feeling His strength. I love experiencing His thoughts that are greater than my own and discovering deeper truths of Him in both His Word and in my day to day journey of life (with Him).

Friends, all of the law is summed up in 2 commands...to love the Lord our God as Jesus commanded, and to love our neighbor as our self. When we learn to love God, our service for God will not be such a drudgery. When we passionately seek after God, His will won't evade us as easily. Our love for God deepens, matures, and grows. The more we love Him, the more His image reflects in our actions.

My prayer today is that I would quit worrying about "serving" God...Quit worrying about being perfect...quit worrying about "discovering His perfect will" and that I wouldn't be bound by "religious ascent". Instead I want to pursue Christ...to "Fall Head over Heels In Love" with Him. I want to search and discover Him...Who He really is in His Word.

I have a feeling that's what Jesus was talking about. To love God so completely that I pursue the mystery of His greatness all the days of my life...that I spend every breath for His pleasure...that I surrender every emotion to His guidance...and submit my deepest thoughts to Him.

Sound fanatical? Maybe. But isn't God worth it? God's love for us was radical. He sent His only son to provide us the hope of salvation. He didn't spare anything to reach out to us...and His love still comes searching today.

Today, I want to encourage you to simply ask, "Lord, is there anyway possible that I could love You more?" And then pursue loving Him as Jesus said...with all your heart...with all your soul...and with all of your mind!

PRAYER: Father, empower us and show us how to love You with every part of our being!

I'll Take My Chances...

Long, upright piggy tails...A bright green and pink checkered suit...and a ruffle that bopped about with each glee filled bounce caught my eye.

The mother weighted with her over the shoulder bag stuffed full with sunscreen, towels, and reading material tried to keep up.

"I'm going in Mommy!" The little (estimated) 4 year old announced.

"No...no...no...no...no..." Like a rapid firing machine, the mother responded. "The water is unsafe. There's dangerous marine life out there."

"I'll take my chances!" The little girl proudly declared and then darted toward the water.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud. "I'll take my chances" resounded in my spirit. Oh to live that fearless. To live that passionately. To embrace the uncertainties and reject all the "What ifs" of life.

No. Of course I'm not endorsing living "DANGEROUSLY" but rather rejecting the idea of "LIVING LIFE CONFINED."

God has called us to believe for the impossible. To dream. To laugh. To see Him above our giants.

Gideon defeated the Midianites with only 300 men...not by living constrained but rather living obedient to God's direction. David slew Goliath...not with the tools of men...but with faith in the one Goliath defied. Abraham bore Isaac...not out of determination but by faith in Who God Was.

And I for one, want to live abandoned to the possibilities...NOT the IMPOSSIBILITIES...of life.

2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (NKJV)

So today, let's take our chances with God. Follow Him where He leads. Live with God's abundance (as if rivers of living water really did flow within us). And, enjoy each breath God gives us to breathe. Let's live passionately and not cower at the enemy's accusations.

Rom 8:15-17 says, "you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba,  Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." (NIV)

We are not in this life alone my friend. And God is able to exceedingly above all we could ever ask, think, or imagine! Let's Enjoy Life and Trust God Will NEVER abandon us on our journey!

PRAYER: Father fill us with joy, laughter, and wisdom to know Your will. Help us to take godly chances and reject too small of thinking...not living haphazardly...but rather embracing and believing all YOU have promised. In Jesus name, amen!

God Has Called YOU!

1 Samuel 16:7, "But the LORD said to Samuel , "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (NIV)

Ever feel disqualified? Ever waver back and forth, tossed about, by life's battles? Ever worry that you've some how missed God's purpose for your life? Or feel disqualified by the opinions of others?

Jesse, David's own father, didn't believe in David enough to call him in to meet with Samuel. Samuel had  instructed Jesse to call in ALL of his sons...but David wasn't invited. One by one, as the story goes, Samuel moves down the line up of Jesse's handsome sons...from Abinidab to Shammah to all of Jesse's sons...until none are left in the line up.

"Are these all the children?" Samuel asks Jesse.

Well, "there remains yet the youngest...he is tending the sheep." Jesse replies.

The whole family gathered together for a feast. Jesse thought all of his sons to be worthy...except for David. All bask in the honor of meeting God's anointed prophet and priest, Samuel, except for David.

Where's David? Out in the field. Alone. Perhaps singing a Psalm of devotion to God. Perhaps talking to sheep. Jesse didn't count him worthy. His brothers never said "HEY, what about David?"

But...God hadn't forgotten David. God knew David's heart. While man looked at resumes, rugged good looks, and strong, bronzey shoulders...God held his blessing for a boy who would later defeat giants. For a man who would forever be remembered as "a man after God's own heart."

Friends, God has chosen YOU! Designed YOU for a specific task. He has positioned you and empowered you to serve Him. Regardless of what others whisper of your worth...God looks upon your heart and says..."Arise, anoint him; for this is he" (or she).

Today, I want to charge you before our Living GOD to remember WHO GOD IS...hold fast to HIS PROMISES..And remember, His purposes for your life will be established. Though you may feel unworthy...though others may not hold you in high regard...GOD looks upon your heart.

God promises that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled. (Matthew 5:6) Those who seek Him will find Him, when they seek Him with all their heart. (Jer. 29:13) He has appointed some as prophets, apostles, evangelists, pastors, and teachers (Ephesians 4:11). But, regardless of the unique purpose...the truth remains...He has created each one of us for something special. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. (Ephesians 2:10)

Today, take time to remember GOD FULFILLS HIS PROMISES! He has GREAT plans for you. So, surrender your life to Him today.

You may feel like your out with the sheep...unnoticed by man...rejected by your own family...BUT GOD HAS NOT FORSAKEN YOU. He sees you right where you are...and at just the right time will call you in from obscurity and anoint you for the task He's designed you for.

NEVER GIVE UP!

PRAYER: Father, thank You for choosing us. Thank You for designing us for a specific purpose. Help us to always enjoy our journey! We choose to put our hope in You. Thank You that You have great plans for us. So, whether we are positioned in palaces or remain herding sheep...let us find joy living abandoned to You. In Jesus name, amen.

The Remedy to Overcoming Fear of Others

People everywhere have an opinion of us. They have ideas of what they want us to be...ideas of what they think we are...ideas of how they think we can change...As a person who wants to please people and have them like me, I sometimes worry too much with what others think.

How about you? Do you ever cower from sharing your faith because you fear being perceived "too fanatical"? Have you ever not stepped out to follow your dreams or not obeyed God because you feared others may think you lost your mind?

I think if we are honest, we've all hesitated, disobeyed, or shied away from living our God given passion at one time or another. The key to living abandoned to God's Word and Will is falling head over heals in love with Him; and really discovering Who He is. The remedy to overcoming the fear of what others think is an intimate relationship with God.

An intimate relationship with God changes our rigid approach of evangelism to a natural way of living. Our intimate relationship with God changes our desires, our thoughts, and helps us to live for Him and Him alone. It squelches our pride. It removes our fear. It fills us with hope. Perhaps that's why Jesus answered the Pharisees question, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:36-40, NIV)

Friends, each one of us have been designed and uniquely gifted. We each have a part to play in the Kingdom of God. Some are called to help cooking, cleaning, organizing, administrating. Some are called to evangelize, writing, speaking, teaching, preaching. Some are called to the fore-front...others to serve behind the scene...BUT...one thing is certain...we are ALL called to love God first and love our "neighbor" as our self.

Today, instead of worrying what others think...instead of worrying about "doing" for God...I am committing to love as He loved, to serve as He served, to follow where He leads. By His grace, I will seek Him and love Him with ALL of my heart. Loving Him brings such freedom!

I hope you sense His freedom today too! Have an awesome weekend and remember to "Dream Big. Laugh often, knowing God has it all under control!

Today, I want to encourage you to Discover What God's Will is. Ask Him His plans for you in this day.

It's Time to Slow Down!

Hebrews 4:9-11, "There remains, then, a Sabbath — rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience." (NIV)

Ever get that check in your spirit "IT'S TIME TO SLOW DOWN" and remember what matters most?

The other day, my youngest pulled me by the hand and said, "C'mon mommy...it's time to rest. All you ever do is work...I want some snuggle time."

OUCH! "All I ever do is work?"

Joshua's hunger for "snuggle time" convicted me that I needed to keep 'first things first'.

Honestly, if I'm not careful, my day to day demands will side track me from what matters most. Ever struggle with the balancing act? Ever get tilted sideways, turned around, upside down, and find yourself anxious? Worn out? Frazzled? Filled with fear?

Friends...Nothing is more important than quiet solitude with God, family, and rest for our soul. Our quiet time with God helps us combat frazzled, fear filled living.

So today, let's commit to take time to SLOW DOWN and nurture our soul. Here are 3 helpful hints to keep first things first:
  1. Spend time in God's Word. Read until you sense encouragement or receive promise and hope from a particular passage. If you are new to reading the Bible I'd encourage you to start in the Gospel of John (in the New Testament) or read from The Book of Psalms--which is filled with praise and promise.
  2. "Snuggle with the one's you love most". Life is short. Take time to say I love you. Pass on sincere praise to your children and spouse. Maybe write a note of why you love them so much. Post a little note of why they are so special on their bedroom door, pillow, or bathroom mirror. I never want to live with regrets..."SNUGGLE TIME is in my horizon tonight."
  3. Surrender your "to do list" and allow rest for your soul. Even God rested on the Sabbath. So, find a place of serenity. Treat yourself to something special. I like hot bubble baths and Sonic Sprites. I like listening to praise music and watching movies. I like walks on the beach and ocean waves. Today, I'm gonna choose something that ministers to me and enjoy a little rest.  What brings you rest for your soul?
Again, our verse for today is Hebrews 4:9-11, "There remains, then, a Sabbath — rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. PRAYER: Father, fill us with wisdom to know how to follow You best. Not toiling in our own strength but working faithfully in Yours. Help us not fall into the trap of being so busy we fail to seek You first and love the ones You surrounded us with. Help us to enter into rest and live without regrets. In Jesus name, amen.

"What Do Your Actions Reveal?"

As a kid, I remember blindfolding friends and leading them by the hand. We also played a game where we would take turns closing our eyes, and at the persons command, would do a free fall backwards in hopes of being caught.

These childhood games built trust and camaraderie. They revealed what we really believed about our friend.

Lately, God’s challenged me with “What do your actions reveal about your trust in Me?”

Henry Blackaby wrote, "When God asks you to do something you cannot do, you will face a crisis of belief. You'll have to decide what you really believe about God. Can He and will He do what He has said He wants to do through you? Can God do the seemingly impossible through your ordinary life? How you respond to His invitation reveals what you truly believe about God, regardless of what you say." (Experiencing God, page 58)

Friends, we all experience moments where our circumstances contradict God's promises. At times, we all feel inadequate, powerless, or trapped by our limitations.

BUT...I want to encourage you to join me; humble yourself before the One Who promises to lift us up…the One Who will never drop us…the One Who leads us faithfully by the hand and directs our steps.

God is the author and finisher of our faith. He doesn't call us to "succeed" or "accomplish"...He calls us to obedience. And, our obedience allows Him the right to move and do what we are incapable of doing on our own.

God designed each one of us uniquely. He empowered us and equipped us for a specific purpose. So...let's NOT allow circumstances or obstacles to stop us from stepping forward to follow after God!

We began this year with a commitment to follow after God...to seek Him first...and to say YES to ALL He calls us to do.

Friends, there will always be mountains to climb...there will always be valleys to trudge through...there will always be tribulation and trials...but remember Jesus' words in John 16:33, "...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (NIV)

Henry Blackaby's quote challenges me to honestly evaluate what I really believe about God...not my words...but my actions.

"What do our actions really declare about our belief of God?"

Today, if you are at a crisis of belief...I encourage you to take a moment to pause before the Living God; ask Him for strength to press on.

Isaiah 40:31 promises us that "those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (NIV)

Furthermore, He promises is Word will NOT return void. He is with us, and will watch over us. He will accomplish and do all that He promised us. (Gen 28:15)

PRAYER: Father, help us to follow You obediently. Empower us to press on...no matter what. We put our hope in You. Thank You for Your promises. Thank You for choosing us. Thank You that You will fulfill all that You said You will. In Jesus name. Amen.

Wanna Know God's Purpose For Your Life?

Mankind longs for purpose...meaning...and significance. We long to matter, to count, and to impact...

Friends, what is God's purpose for your life? What has He promised you? What has He whispered during your time of reading His Word?

Whatever He has said, don't forget it. Hold it fast. Replay it in your mind. No matter your circumstances remember Who He is and NEVER let go of His promise. His purpose will be fulfilled. In Isaiah 46:10, God says, "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please." (NIV)

The most important thing we can do in this life is to step into God's design. The task is not what is important. The mission itself is not glorious or inglorious...what makes our mission important is our obedience to God's purpose. Let's not get lost in whether our task is important or not.

I've heard it said if God called us to be ditch diggers...we'd be stepping down if we became President. In other words...what makes our task special...what makes our life count is OBEDIENCE! Nothing more...nothing less.

Personally, I want to align my plans and ambitions with God's and live my life completely for Him. But, how do we discover His purpose? Allow me to share a portion of the material I share at conferences (on discovering God's will). If you long to clarify God's will for your life, I encourage you to take time to answer these questions and ask God to reveal His purpose.

1. What does God desire for my life?
i. What has He spoken to me through His Word?
ii. What has He spoken to me through Others?
iii. What has He spoken to me through circumstances?

2. What gifts has God given me?
i. What comes naturally to me?
ii. What open doors are in front of me?
iii. What brings me joy or what do I love doing?
v. What would I do even if I never got paid for it?
vi. What have others confirmed in my life?

If you already know God's purpose and just need encouragement, remember Proverbs 19:21, which says, "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails."

Friends, God will do all that He promises. His purposes will be accomplished. We are not alone. And as we yield our life to HIM...we CAN'T mess it up and we WON'T miss it. He is faithful and is always in control.

PRAYER: Father, fill us with understanding. Help us to know Your will. Lead us in the way we should go. And encourage us along each step of the journey. Use our life to glorify You.  And thank You for Your love.

TAKE THE LID OFF OF IT!

I heard a story quite a few years ago about a flea trainer. Yes...you read me correctly...a flea trainer. Now though I would never want to spend my life working with fleas, the conditioning of others work fascinates me.

Apparently, the flea trainers cover a glass with a lid and allow the fleas to bounce around the enclosed glass. They jump up and down, bouncing up and hitting the top of the lid...after several days of their conditioning...the flea trainer can remove the lid and the fleas will never escape...WHY??? Because they will only jump to the height of where the lid once was. Kind of reminds you of Pavlov's dog from psychology 101, doesn't it?

Friends, expectations shape our life and influence our decisions. How we think shapes and conditions our lives. So, what are you expecting? What do you think about?

Philippians 4:8 says, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things." (NIV)

So, today, "TAKE THE LID OFF OF IT!" Remove the barriers that condition you to only jump so high! Believe for the impossible!

God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, and his power is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20). So, let's live in such a way to bring Him glory to all generations, for ever and ever!

Here are three simple steps to help us take charge of our thinking:
  1. Remember Who We Serve and hold fast to His promises.
  2. Renounce all small thinking or negative thoughts, lining them up with the truth of HIS Word.
  3. Resolve to seize God's promise and stand firm, pressing on...No matter what!
Remember...You are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
PRAYER: Father, help us to believe the truth. To put away small thinking. To hold fast to You and Your promises. Lord, we don't want to make things up...but neither do we want to live too small. Empower us to live for You and to live life abundantly! For Your glory and honor. Amen.

"I'm Right Here!"

"Ok kids...Hurry up and take a bath so we can get to the movies."

My children eagerly scampered up the stairs to quickly bathe and dress.

We had just finished swimming and decided to end our family day with a movie. (I can't remember what movie we planned to watch...but I do remember the loud thud and the screams that followed.)

"Mommy! MOMMY! MOMMMMMMMMYYYYYY!" Joshua screamed.

I ran up the stairs to find my youngest sitting in the tub with blood squirting from his chin. In his excitement, he tried to jump out of the tub but slipped and hit his chin against its edge.

My stomach turned in knots as I reached down to pick him up. I softened my voice but stated firmly, "Ok Joshua. Lay back. Take a few deep breaths and relax."

"BUT IT HURTS!" Tears gushed from his eyes and ran down his cheeks.

"I know, Son, but you have to lay still so I can examine your chin."

I turned to grab a towel from behind me. "Don't leave me MOMMY!" Joshua pleaded.

"Son, I'm not going anywhere. I'm right here. But I have to get a towel."

It didn't take long to realize Joshua's chin needed stitches...so off to the urgent care clinic we went. My husband drove while I held Joshua, applying pressure to his wound.

Nearly a year later, I still remember his frantic cries and my immediate response. My heart yearned to help him. Protect him. Comfort him.

Friends, God's love for us is even greater. Some of us our broken, hurting, bleeding...in desperate need for God's gentle healing touch. We need to hear His comforting voice. We need to be reminded that he won't leave us.

Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (NIV)

IN the midst of our pain. IN the midst of our struggles. IN the midst of our gaping wounds...GOD stands with us. His love for us compels His power to help, to heal, to comfort.

Today, I sense God's great love for us. Encouraging us, as I did my son. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm right here."

My son cried out to me...it was his cry that compelled me to action. He didn't try to handle his wound on his own...He didn't pretend he wasn't hurt...HE CRIED OUT, and in response I ran to his aid.

Psalm 34:17-18 says, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (NIV)

So today, cry out to God...He hears you. He will answer your cries for help. He LOVES YOU!

PRAYER: Father, help us. Comfort us. And help us sense that You are near. Thank You that You never leave us or forsake us. Thank You that Your love compels You to action...to defend us...protect us...and comfort us. Move on our behalf. And may we glorify You with our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.

He Will Instruct Us In The Way We Should Go

Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you and watch over you." (NIV)


Yesterday, my oldest daughter drove home from school. Empowered by a new driving permit, she sat behind the driver's wheel; her shoulder stiffened...tight...tense.

I watched her clench the steering wheel. Her tight grip revealed her fear. She was nervous. Anxious. Yet, Excited. Her face conveyed a host of emotions; her eyes danced back and forth, watching for any possible danger.

"It's going to be ok Courtney, I'm here. You are going to do great; just listen to my instructions.

As she watched traffic, I thought of my own life.

Friends, we all feel like a novice at different times of life. Nervous. Anxious. Yet, excited. And, at times we all feel overwhelmed.But today, I hope you sense the loving encouragement of our Father. Can't you just hear His voice saying to each of us the same thing I whispered to Courtney?

"It's going to be ok, (interject your name), I'm here. You are going to do great; just listen to my instructions.

At His command, our shoulders can relax. We can fall back knowing He will instruct us and lead us in the way we should go. At the sound of His gentle voice all our fears vanish.

Today, I want to encourage you from His Word. Psalm 145:13 says, "The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made." (NIV)

You are not alone. So, follow His instruction and grab hold of the wheel with confidence. He won't steer you wrong. :) He is faithful to ALL HIS PROMISES and loving toward all He has made.

PRAYER: Father, lead us today. Instruct us in the way we should go. Thank You that You never leave us. Help us to sense Your presence this day.

The Lord Hears Your Cries!

Ever feel as though your prayers hit the ceiling and then crash to the floor? Ever feel like they never reach the ears of God? Ever feel powerless by the heavy anxiety that fills your mind and weights your soul?

Psalm 34:15, 17-19, says, "The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry. The righteous cry, and the LORD HEARS and delivers them out of ALL their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them ALL."

Regardless of how we "FEEL" today. God hears our cry for help. His ears are open to us. And, according to Psalm 34, not only does God hear us, He delivers us out of ALL our troubles.

Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo...GOD stands with us in the midst of our fire. Like Daniel in the lion's den, God preserves us and shuts the mouth of our enemy.

If you're like me, you probably wonder, why the hardships? Why the struggle? Why so much pressure?

Friends, every trial we face produces life and reveals a greater revelation of WHO GOD IS. When we abandon our will and pray "THY WILL BE DONE"...when we surrender our lives completely to God... God takes us on an awesome adventure. An adventure that at times proves difficult, but one that produces a revelation of GOD'S amazing grace and power.

James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (NIV)

Sometimes our trials become to heavy...and perseverance seems impossible...BUT...can I encourage you...GOD NEVER FAILS...And as Psalms 34 says...GOD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKENHEARTED and SAVES THOSE WHO ARE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT!

Today, was one of those days where I broke and cried out to GOD saying...GOD...I need breakthroughs. I'm exhausted. I don't feel like I can take one more step. I can't muster up courage. I can't fight anymore.  HELP!!!!! I desperately NEED to see YOUR provision.

And that's when God reminded me of Psalm 34.

Friends, God is near. He hears our cry. He has not abandoned us. He will save us and rescue us. WE are NOT alone! Jesus, Himself, is here by our side. He is full of GLORY...filled with ALL POWER. He carries us and fights our battles.

The revelation of WHO HE IS provides hope for our soul and the power to press on.

Personally, today, as I remembered GOD fights my battles, a smile formed on my face, and turned up slightly to one side. Determination filled my eyes. And, a power (NOT MY OWN) filled my heart, declaring bring it on enemy...Because I won't shut up, let up, or give up, until I have reached eternity. My life is not my own. I have been bought with a price. And I will use my life to glorify The One Who saved my life.

May that same determination, hope, and freedom fill your heart and soul today! Don't give up. Dream BIG. LAUGH OFTEN, Remembering God's got it ALL under control.

PRAYER: Father, You are our hope. You are our refuge. Our ever present help in times of trouble. Thank You that You really do hear our Prayers. Today...help us. Deliver us. Provide for us. Grant us Your favor. Fill us with Your power. Give us Your wisdom. Provide the resources and strength to do ALL You have called us to do! And may we always reveal Your character, Your love, and Your Presence in our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.

Remember Who You Serve

Revelation 1:17, "When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead." (NIV)

Wow, every time I read this verse it causes me to reflect on Jesus Power. Think about it. John walked with Jesus, laid back against his chest during the last supper, and stood with him at the cross...but in REVELATION...he fell as a dead man before HIM! WOW!

This passage of Scripture always makes me remember my husband's explanation of God. He say, "If you can ever completely understand or explain God...you serve too small a god."

God is so much greater than we could ever hope or imagine. He exceeds our greatest expectation. Words can't even begin to describe his holiness, power, or love!

It's easy to get wrapped up in our day to day routine and fall into the pattern of casually interacting with God...BUT...in order to PERSEVERE WITH HOPE...we need to STOP and REMEMBER WHO WE SERVE.

He is ALL POWERFUL. Mighty to save. Faithful. He ever lives to intercede for us! He is good and He loves us. He is our Father!

1 John 3:1 says, "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God ! And that is what we are!" (NIV) How encouraging. We are HIS and He is for us!


So today, I want to encourage you..."If God is for you, who can stand against you?" Take a few moments to envision Him today...in all of His glory...in all of His honor... in all of His love!

PRAYER: Father fill us with hope. Reveal Your power. Fill us with Your Spirit. Strengthen us. Give us a clearer revelation of just HOW POWERFUL You are. And thank You God, that You love us, and have chosen to call us Your children.
