Reconnecting...

Yesterday, my husband and I visited with dear friends from Louisville, KY. We talked about old times, heard about people we hadn't seen for awhile, and got caught up on life. Coffee. Poolside conversation. Dinner. Dessert. The hours passed so quickly but enriched our soul.

This morning, as I awakened, I thought about how important friendship is, and couldn't help but think how refreshing it is to spend time in God's presence. Spending time with Him nourishes our soul and replenishes what the world tries to steal.

Ever feel worn down by "schedules"? Ever feel depleted and spent?

Today's thought is pretty basic but I hope its simplicity tears down every complexity of the enemy.

In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus encourages, "Come to me , all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (NIV)

My prayer, for each one of us, is to take time to rest, to reconnect with God, to resist the enemy's diversions and choose what is best.

Let's take a little extra time to fellowship with God today...and make the time to get caught up. AMEN??? Amen.
