Ever get caught in a rainstorm?
I remember while living in Kentucky a front moved in; the rained pelleted against my windshield making the road invisible to view. I slowed down. The torrential downpour caused my car to hydro-plane on the inescapable standing water. Eventually, the storm became so violent I had no choice but to pull to the shoulder of the road and wait for conditions to clear.
Oh to have that wisdom in life! To know when to slow down or even pull over to wait!
Yet, how often have I trudged forward wanting to appear as though I had "everything" under control...
Today, as I read Isaiah 30:18 I nearly jumped out of my chair in excitement!
It says, "Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!" (NIV)
Wow. What an encouraging word.
Friend, if you're in a storm...I want to encourage you to give yourself grace; the best thing to do during a storm is to wait it out by waiting for the LORD.
He longs to be gracious to us. He longs to rise and show us compassion. WHY? Because He is GOOD.
In Kentucky, eventually the skies cleared, the road became visible, and I continued safely to my home.
Today, I'm praying the same for you...sunshiny skies and safe travel on this journey we call LIFE.
Have an awesome weekend and remember...DREAM BIG...LAUGH OFTEN...and REMEMBER...GOD HAS IT ALL UNDER CONTROL!
What a simple but effective post, Julie. You have a way of saying things the way they should be said to help us see things that should be seen. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Julie... I love the simplicity of it, but what a profound and powerful word.
