Hebrews 11:8, "By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." (NIV)
Joshua's big blue eyes twinkled with an-ever-growing excitement. "Where we going Mommy?"
"You'll see!" I said smiling.
For weeks Joshua asked to go for a walk and to have some "Mommy-Joshua Time".
"C'mon. Let's go." I said, taking him by the hand.
We walked together for over an hour. Talking. Laughing. Just hanging out.
The anticipation of "Where We Were Going" became lost in laughter and conversation.
Today, I sense the Lord whispering, "C'mon. Let's go." "Take me by the hand and let's spend some time together." "Don't worry about where we're going...you'll see!"
If you're like me, your eyes are wide-open filled with excitement and anticipation of where God is leading...while feeling overwhelmed with feelings of inadequacy and an ever-growing list of questions wondering, how...when... Lately, I find myself thinking, I honestly don't know if I can do this...it seems too big! God continues to open incredible opportunities that literally demand deep breaths to calm my rapidly beating heart.
Yet...at His command...I will step out once again to walk on water...and believe once again for the impossible...not because I'm gonna "work-it-up" but because I'm gonna "walk-it-out", one step at a time.
How about it? You up for a walk? Let's get lost in laughter and fellowship with our God and relinquish our fears.
Friends, God-sized calls always feel overwhelming until we exchange our abilities for His, surrender our wisdom for His faithfulness, and embrace the love He so freely offers!

We want to walk by sight, don't we? Good challenge, and illustration! When one of my daughters was 6 she'd say "Dad, let's talk." She's in grad school now. Take advantage of those walks w your son!
ReplyDeleteAmen, I can totally relate; I am trusting God to lead and guide me to that unknown destiny HE has for me. Thanks for sharing.
