This morning, as I sought the Lord what I should write about, God's reply surprised me.
You see, the first thing I do every morning, as I awake, is to "snuggle in" real close to my husband; I pray for him and then I silently pray...Lord, what do you want me to share on my blog today? How can I encourage your people to follow after the dreams you've put in their heart? How can I encourage them from the truth of your word?
Then I wait...usually a verse pops in to my mind that I believe is from God. Once I know what I'm going to write about, I jump to my feet, get the kids fed and off to school, and then hurry to my computer to pray and write.
Today...no specific verse came to mind...no word pictures...no stories...just a simple thought directly from God..."Tell my people that I love them...that I see them...that they are not alone."
I felt Him saying that He sees our brokenness, our fears, our doubts...we wonder how could God really love us? How could He take pleasure in us when we still have so many impurities. We've conditioned our beliefs to society's standards...BUT God loves us unconditionally; (and though I believe of course that we should ask for forgiveness of our sins and live to please Him) His grace and mercy cover all of our offenses.
You are truly loved. And not just by any ordinary person...You ARE LOVED by the most AMAZING & POWERFUL God! And today...as I prayed for you...as I prayed about what I should write...as I asked Lord what do You want to say to Your people...again, He gently responded...
"Tell them that I love them."
So, today as you go through your day, as you face your battles, as you check off the "to do list" demanding your attention...SMILE--because God loves you.
Ask Him to lead you. Ask Him to be near you. Ask Him to allow you to sense His presence. And He will!
Ah...there it is...finally I thought of our verse for today...Jeremiah 31:3-4,"...I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt..."NIV
Prayer: Father, build us up today. Thank You for Your mercy. Thank You that You choose to not remember our sins and all of our weaknesses and failures. Thank You that You love us and thank You for reminding us today, of just how blessed we are to know You. Help us reflect Your glory, mercy, and love so that others might come to know You to! In Jesus Name...Amen.

When you fall down, who is there to help you back up?
Can I just say I am absolutely married to the most amazing man in the world. Yesterday we celebrated another year of his life...he turned 41. Each year, I stand more and more amazed at God's wisdom in putting us together. We offer one another encouragement, strength, vision, direction, support, love, compassion, and a good ole kick in the "tater" when he...I mean...we need it...LOL. The truth is, my husband, Greg completes me.
It is so important to surround our lives with quality people...to develop friendships with people we can encourage, and to develop friendships where we receive encouragement.
ISOLATION is one of satan's key attempts to destroy our dreams and our lives. When we isolate ourselves, we fall prey to the lies that "no one else has ever faced this battle" or "no one else cares." Without friendships and accountability our dreams risk complacency and can die alone even with the best of intentions.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." NIV
This verse though often used in marriage ceremonies is applicable to our work place, our ministries, our families, and our friendships.
When you fall down, who is there to help you back up?
If you don't have a circle of friends you can think of readily...you need to start creating one. Purpose to be a friend. Look for the opportunity to encourage someone elses dreams. Make time to have lunch with the person you've been intending to. They need you and quite honestly...YOU need them!
If you have a circle of friends and a network of support...take time to let them know how much you appreciate them.
With that let me say, "Thank you. Thank you for joining with me on this journey. Thank you for reading this blog and posting your comments. Thank you for believing in me and encouraging me to extend the love of God through this ministry. Above all, thank you for just being you. God designed each one of you with amazing gifts. He's called you to be great mothers, fathers, employers, ministers, writers, speakers, sales people...and the list goes on. Your lives reflect Him. And I count it a privilege to call you my friend."
Prayer for Today: Father, bless my friends today. May they be surrounded with a network of people who love them and who encourage them to be all that You have called them to be. Help us to do and live Your design. Grant us Your favor. Prosper the works of our hands. In Jesus name, amen.

A Place of Perspective
The other day I was walking in the store when a lady frantically waved her arms in the air and came running in my direction. I smiled, thinking to myself, Who is this women and why is she so happy to see me? I waved back and began praying, Lord help me to know who this women is. Much to my embarrassment, after waving back at her and acting as equally glad to see this young women, she ran passed me to embrace a different person about 5 feet from behind me. I literally laughed out loud and turned quickly down another aisle.
Perspective is everything. Sometimes we really think something is happening...when in fact...it isn't. Sometimes I get so lost in my circumstances that I forget to remind myself of the truth.
Yesterday, as I sat in church, the Holy Spirit prompted a thought in my mind. I saw a picture of a mountaing top. One by one, God was picking up people from the valley below and was placing them on the top of the mountain. I felt Him nudge me in my thoughts that sometimes our circumstances don't change but that if we will allow Him, He will change our perspective. He'll allow us to see the beauty of the valley from the top of the mountain--and help us to remember the BIGGER picture of life.
As Christians, we should operate from the truth of who we are in Christ and remember the facts. The facts are that:
We are loved and we are the children of God: 1 John 3:1,"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God ! And that is what we are!..."NIV
We will one day leave this world and be made to be like Him: 1 John 3:2-3,"Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him , for we shall see him as he is."NIV
We have no need to fear because He is with us: Isa 43:1-3,"Fear not , for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters,I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. 3 For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;" NIV
Today, what is your perspective? Remember Who you serve. Believe for the impossible. Trust God. Whether in the valley or on the mountaintop...God is faithful!
Rom 12:1-2, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind . Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will."NIV
Prayer: Father, forgive us when we doubt. Fill us with hope and power. Change our perspective and help us to remember the truth. Let our faith always be strong. We desire to please You so fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we might live a life of faith and honor You.

Love Gently
We never fully know the pain people have encountered...it was a few years back that one of my dearest friends began to share secrets from her life, a tragedy she had experienced in her younger years...It was in this moment of vulnerability that some of her quirky tendencies started to make sense.
I loved this dear lady. She and her husband had become dear friends to us. As her life story unfolded I sat shocked at some of the stories she told. God had given me a great love and respect for this friend. His love helped me overlook some of her tendencies to try to dominate conversations and control situations.
I remember at different times I'd begin getting a little perturbed but God would prompt my heart to love her "gently."
1 John 4:7-12, "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." NIV
I'm reminded time and time again of this friendship. It would've been easy to judge or to dismiss this friendship...but when we love like Christ loved us...we overlook offenses...we overlook shortcomings...and we abandoned ourselves to God's design of changing us to be more like Him.
True love counts the cost and willingly dies to "self". So, in our marriages, in our ministries, in our friendships let's love like Jesus...UNCONDITIONALLY... And COMPLETELY.
Amazing miracle happen when we love; the most amazing of them all is that we begin to look more and more like the One we most want to be like-Jesus!
I pray that you are blessed this weekend and may the love of God fill you with His love and mercy. In Jesus name amen.
Prayer: Father, help me to love like you love, without conditions, with complete mercy, and continuously. Help me see others like you see them. Help me to die to my tendency to want to judge other or protect "my rights". I want to be like you Jesus. So empower me by Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, AMEN.

The Body Is A Unit
As Christians, one of the most dangerous games we can entertain is comparing ourselves with others. We risk either inflating our egos or despairing to feelings of insufficiency or inadequacy.
1 Corinthians 12:12-28 reminds us that, "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body...Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
This particular passage of scripture speaks to the tendency of feeling inadequate.
Ever feel like you're just not good enough? Ever wish you were more talented or had the abilities of another? Just as each of our body parts are extremely vital...so are we. We each have a gift. We were each designed with a purpose.
Personally, I would love to own an Austin Martin...WOW...expensive...macked out...but no matter how great this vehicle is...it's not going to be able to drive down the highway without air in it's tires. The air isn't prestigious or easily recognized but without it...the vehicle is immobile.
Each of us have a function within the body of Christ, a call that God has given us to fulfill. So, don't despise your gift. Embrace it and use it for God's glory.
Let's read on now in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 21, "The eye cannot say to the hand , "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
This passage of Scripture refers to inflated egos. If we think of ourselves more highly than we should God reminds us just how helpless we are without all of our body parts.
Less of us probably struggle with this tendency. We would never dream of telling someone they don't have any use.
But do we fail to become all God desires for us because we busy ourselves with comparing ourselves to others rather than comparing ourselves to Christ? Do we excuse our lack of involvement because others aren't doing their part?
1 Corinthians 12:27 ends with an important reminder for each one of us, "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." NIV
No matter how you feel YOU have GREAT WORTH. YOU were DESIGNED for a purpose. Uniquely gifted. God anticipated your life. He carefully created you. So, live your life courageously for Him.
Prayer: Father forgive me for comparing my worth with others. Forgive me for ever feeding my feelings of inadequacy or insufficiency. I recommit to live my life whole-heartedly for You. Show me Your design and will for my life. And thank You for the grace and strength to accomplish it.

Stand Firm---There is hope!
Ever feel weary? Overly burdened with cares? Or, heavy from the feeling of inadequacy or in-sufficiency? Maybe you feel guilty from the weight of sin? Or are disillusioned by brokenness?
You are not alone. But...there is hope. Jesus promises in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest . Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." NIV
If you feel worried, troubled, afflicted, or weighted...perhaps the load you carry was never designed for you. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us to focus on the truth and the goodness of God; it says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."
Faith is simply remembering Who we serve. And as Hebrews 11:1 reminds, faith "is the conviction of things not seen." You see, we may not see in the temporal all of the answers we long to see...but we can know if God has promised it...it will come to be. It's not a matter of doing but of trusting. If God can cause Abraham and Sarah who are well in their 90's to 100's to bare a child...He can supply for our impossible situations too.
God is the God of impossibilities. He's the supplier of our every need. He's our hope of salvation. And our strength when we feel weary. His love and mercy surpass our greatest imaginations. He's greater than we could ever think. And...He is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
I love the song by Ginny Owens--If you want me to... Here are the lyrics.
The pathway is broken
And the signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why you brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I will go through the valley
If You want me to
CHORUS:
Now I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise
You're not through with me yet
So if all of these trials bring me closer to You
I will go through the fire
If You want me to
It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my own
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'll never go alone
So when the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the valley
If You want me to

Today, I want to encourage you to stand your ground. Don't give up. Ephesians 6:10-14 says, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm..."NIV
Prayer: Father give me strength for the journey. Lift up my hope. Let joy return to my heart. Fill me with confidence and strength. You are a great God. Thank you for Your power and strength. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to walk in a manner pleasing to You. In Jesus name...Amen.

God's Promise to You
I am so thankful for the mercy of God...You see sometimes as a leader, I bare the weight of feeling as though I have to know ALL the answers. I wrestle with my lack of knowledge by courageoulsy spouting off theories that I hope will work. By the end of the day, I'm exhausted, spent, and have nothing left to offer. I slowly retreat to routine tasks needing accomplished on the home front, and finally go to bed...only to awake and feel the pressure starting all over again...
After what seems likes days of endless pressure, God breaks this cycle of self-sufficiency, by over-whelming my pride with impossible situations. It's in these impossible situations I raise my hands in complete exhaustion and frustration and cry out..."I can't do this Lord. HELP!"
And you know what? God does. He doesn't come back with, "Oh no...you're the one with all the answers...or No...you made your bed now sleep in it." No...God comes back and with mercy and grace surrounds me with strength. As I cry out to Him, He generously supplies me with provision and wisdom. Impossible tasks cower to the ALL SUFFICIENT GOD.
In this particular season of life, having learned that I can do nothing apart from God, and that God will supply for my every need, I am resisting the temptation of being the solution to every trial that rears it's ugly head. Rather, I have been reminded time and time again of Psalm 34:8-10, which says, "Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing." NIV
Today, I believe God wants to gently remind you that He is near to you. He sees your situation. He sees how your circumstances seem impossible to you...BUT...HE is promising you, that those who seek Him will lack NO GOOD THING.
GOD is GOOD. His mercies are new every morning. He says ask of Me and I will give you wisdom. Seek Me and you will find Me when you seek Me with all of your heart. Lean not on your own understandings for I will direct your path. My plans are to bless and not harm you. I delight in you. My favor rests upon you. And I will accomplish all that I have promised you. (all of these promises are found througout Scripture.)
So...Today...Laugh Often and Dream Big...knowing God's got it!
Prayer: Father, fill us with hope. Give us the strength to do all that You've called us to. Help us to feel Your presence. Thank You for Your love and mercy. Help us to extend Your love and grace to others and to not cower at the tasks that lay before us. In Jesus name...AMEN!

What's Your Dream?
Hebrews 12:1-2 encourages us, "...let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith..."NIV
Today we celebrate the memory of Martin Luther King. When I think of this man's life, my predominate thought surrounds his speech...I have a dream...As an adult I recognize, even more greatly, Martin Luther King's sacrifice. His dream, though making him popular and respected with some, opposed the accepted norms of society; eventually, this opposition cost him his life.
The thought comes to me...What do you believe in? What ideals do you stand for? And, what cost are you willing to make to ensure your dreams come true?
Often times, God calls us to go against the accepted "norms" of society. Our dreams may not always coincide with the popular opinion of the masses. Our vision to stand up for the truth may alienate us from the smooth, conflict free living, that we desire.
Don't misunderstand me...I'm not overtly involved in any crusades to revolutionize society...NOR am I involved in the political arena. What I'm talking about, is my dream to simply obey God's design for my life. I feel like the author of Acts who said...in Acts 20:24, "...I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. " NIV
What has God called you to? What gifts has He given you? And what price are you willing to pay to ensure you fulfill your call?
We each have a part to fulfill. We are each uniquely gifted. So,don't doubt...YOU have SIGNIFICANCE! YOUR stand counts. And, YOUR voice needs to be heard. 1 Cor 12:27, Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. NIV
Like you, I want to live my life in such a way that I impact my community for God. I want to make a difference. I want my life to count. So today...I encourage you to discover your gift, develop it, and then...DO it. DON'T get distracted or allow society to squelch your design. Don't allow words from the masses to convince you that you are insignificant. DON'T allow busyness to hinder your passion. Rather...DO YOUR PURPOSE.
My prayer is that our testimony will be like Paul's, who said in 2 Timothy 4:6-8, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." NIV
Prayer: Father, I give You my life today to use as You see fit. Let me fulfill Your call and design for my life. Help me to not get detoured. Encourage me to press on. Show and confirm Your direction for my life. I want to be pleasing to you. I set aside all my preconceived ideas and MY passions and desires and yield to do what You desire for my life. Thank You for my forgiveness. And thank You that I don't have to DO anything on my own. Thank You that YOU will lead me and equip me. I love You, Lord. AMEN.

God is Faithful
Eleven years ago today I made a decision to link my heart and life, to the most amazing man ever; with eyes wide opened, I plunged forward and committed to spend the rest of my life with him.
The first couple of years were filled with uncertainty. We had so many knock out drag out fights that I wondered if I had made a horrible mistake. BUT...I stuck it out, committed to not divorce. God gave me a promise one night that He would fix our marriage but that our healing required a continual surrender on my part; my surrender could not be contingent on my husband's actions. God promised if I simply focused on the things I needed to change about myself, that He'd heal my marriage. That evening was a turn around for my marriage. I had hope. I had a promise.
What has God promised you? Does it get muddled with the weight of uncertainty? Do you lose hope in the midst of your momentary troubles and the circumstances that surround you?
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says, "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. NIV
God is faithful. And His word will accomplish what He has set it out to do. He will not fall short of accomplishing His promises. And what's encouraging to remember is that as 1 Samuel 15:29 says, "He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a man , that he should change his mind." NIV
For me...God not only saved my marriage He radically altered it. When Greg and I speak at churches, or people read my book, they can hardly believe our story because they see who we are today. We are constantly told how much people admire our friendship and love for one another. In other words...GOD came through. My marriage is the kind of marriage every girl dreams about but few get to have. I love my husband through and through.
So, let me encourage you. Do you have dreams that seem distant? Is adversity weighing you down? Do circumstances muddle your hope? Have momentary afflictions blinded your vision? God is faithful. He will fulfill all He has promised. You are NOT alone.
Here are 5 short steps to break doubt and fear, thereby overcoming adversity:
1. Put your hope in God. Remember Who it is you serve.
2. Focus your attention on His promises.
3. Speak His truth out loud. (We spend way too much time confirming negative thoughts, disarm your fears with Scriptural promises)
4. Thank God for what He is going to do.
5. Press on and never give up.
Our prayer today is taken from the Book of Psalms:
Psalm 42:5-6, "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him,my Savior and 6 my God.NIV
And another Psalm--
Psalm 62:5-8, "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him,for God is our refuge." NIV

An Amazing Love
I have had the privilege of experiencing some amazing gifts of love in my life time...my children...dear, dear, friends...and truly the most awesome husband ever...But the most amazing gifts of love is God's.
Though it's difficult to grasp "WHY" God could love me, I know He does. Don't get me wrong...there are times I doubt. Even times that I question and wonder if God's abandoned me. Sometimes I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders...my dreams shattered...my plans ruined...and I think to myself, I've lost God's favor.
EVER feel that way?
Believe it or not...it's not uncommon. Scripture is filled with examples of God's people struggling with the same thing.
Look at Isaiah 49:14-16--"But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me,the Lord has forgotten me." (See I told you it wasn't uncommon.)
But, look at God's response in verse 15 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! 16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;(NIV)
"God’s love is more tender than a mother’s, more faithful than a brother’s, and more intimate than a lover’s; His love crossed the battlefield of pain, traversed through the trenches of indifference and pride, and stretched His arms wide, nailing the weight of our sin to its final death. Jesus came to earth with one purpose in mind—to die in our place. Why?—because He loves us. God doesn’t withhold His love from us, or keep us at arms length. He doesn’t demand our accomplished achievements. He desires our passion." (An excerpt from my new book, When He Whispers.)
The other day I became increasingly aware of my past sins and as I cowered into old mind sets, wondering if I could ever be truly forgiven or saved, I had to remind myself that my righteousness is not what saves me. No matter my greatest achievements, my most valiant efforts, or my most sacrificial lifestyles...I cannot save myself. It has always been about God's grace.
From His first appearance in a tiny manger, to embracing women, children, and the despised and rejected...God has demonstrated His passion to relate to us and extend mercy.
TODAY, quiet your heart and receive encouragement in the knowledge that...YOU are NOT alone. YOU are LOVED! You have amazing gifts to offer. YOU were designed for a purpose.
Prayer: Father, You are so good. And though I can't even begin to comprehend Your mercy and love...I thank You. Please demonstrate Your love for me today by allowing me to feel Your presence with me. Help me to do all that You have called me to. I give You this day. I give You my life. Use me as You see fit. In Jesus name, Amen.

BREATHE!!!
Today's post is a little unique; it's more prophetic in nature. But bare with me...
As I entered prayer this morning I felt compelled to turn to Ezekiel 37--the vision of the valley of dry bones: and Israel's restoration. In this chapter Ezekiel is led by the spirit of God to a valley...the valley is filled with dry bones...they are everywhere.
Ever feel like you're in a valley surrounded my lifeless remnants of dead dreams? Ever feel as though you have no life in you? Ever feel like no other living being gets you or understands your passions/purpose?
Ezekiel passed among them and round about them and they were very many. But in the midst of this valley...in the midst of being surrounded by dead dry bones GOD SPOKE. God asked a question to Ezekiel...can these bones live?
Today God challenges us with the same question...stirring our faith...and calling us to believe.
As I read the remaining portion of the chapter I felt the Lord stirring me to prophesy to you to BREATHE. Let the spirit of God fill you and lift you up. Let any and all of your discouragement and brokenness melt away. WHY because God is NEAR. You are not alone. You have not been abandoned. And you have a call and purpose to fulfill. You are not dead. Your dreams will come to fruition. WHY...because GOD is able to do exceedingly above all we could ever ask, think, or imagine.
Listen to some of the promises God spoke in Ezekiel 37...hear them and apply them to your life.
Ezek 37:5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says,..."I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD."
Verse 9 ..."Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live."
11 Then he said to me: "Son of man, these bones...say, 'Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.' 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them: ...14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.'" NIV
Prayer for today: Father replace my disbelief with faith. Breathe your life into me. Let my life count for you. Take away any discouragement and fill me with hope. Let me experience a clearer picture of who you are. Restore me. And help me to walk closely with you, recognizing your voice, and experience your love.

Have You Lost Your Expectancy?
Our focus determines our expectancy. If we focus on circumstances we cave under the pressure of what's happening and forget to anticipate the promises of God. If we focus on our ability, we cower to the mounting pressure of what needs to be done and fall prey to feeling inadequate and insufficient for the task.
During different seasons of my life I have found myself discouraged, wondering if my dreams would ever come true, discounting my call, and doubting my worth.
Perspective is everything. We lose our expectancy when we focus on the temporal...BUT when we shift our focus to our Maker and remember His promises...we are invincible.
For what is impossible with man is POSSIBLE with GOD. With GOD ALL THINGS are POSSIBLE.
Psalm 121 says, "I lift up my eyes to the hills — where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you — the LORD is our shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day,nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." NIV
If you find yourself lacking expectancy...perhaps your answer is simple!?! LOOK UP to the hills and remember where your help comes from and remember His promises.
PRAYER: Father, be my help today. Let me glorify you. Help me to remember my purpose. Help me fulfill my call. Help me to live today expectant of good things, open doors, and thank you that Your favor is with me. AMEN.

The Meaning Of Life
We’re all friends here right? Great; so let’s get really honest and answer some heart to heart questions transparently.
▪ How many of us have ever gone through seasons of life where we've thought, “There’s got to be more to life than this?”
▪ How many of us have ever felt called to do something, but just aren't sure how to go about it?
▪ How many of us feel God has given us a really big promise…and though we can’t wait to see it come to pass, we sometimes wonder if it will?
I imagine if we were all in a room together most (if not all) of us would have to raise our hands to at least one of the questions listed above. So what's my point?
Simply this, our feelings and struggles are not uncommon; which gives a whole new revelation to the truth, that, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…” BUT the GOOD NEWS of John 10:10 is that Jesus has “come that we may have life, and have it to the full. NIV
II Peter 1:3 promises that God has given us everything that we need that pertains to life and godliness.
The key to God designed living is to come to the end of ourselves…our abilities…and our power…and recognize that it’s always been about God…His ability…and His Power…
When we exchange our best efforts and substitute our busy activity with simple obedience we will find the strength to declare as Paul did that “I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.”
I feel the Lord gently encouraging us today, as He did Jacob when Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran, with these words:
Gen 28:13-15
"I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. 14 Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. 15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." NIV
You are amazing. Created uniquely. Designed with and for a purpose. And...when you purpose to give your gifts in full service to the Lord you cannot fail. You will accomplish what He has destined for you to accomplish.
My prayer for you today: May God grant you wisdom to know His will and purpose for your life and the strength and passion to fulfill it.

Be Still & Know
Check the kid's homework, get their breakfast, get them off to school, write a blog, train agents at the office, meet with two different prayer meetings, prepare for the ministry launch, create prayer/financial support cards...and....and...
With so many things "to do" I feel God gently whispering..."Be still and know that I am God".
My greatest struggle is also my greatest strength--I get things DONE. The problem with being a glorious doer is that if I'm not careful I can forget to be; I start wrestling in my OWN strength rather than resting in God's AWESOME provision.
Truly EACH one of us is called to greatness. Some of us quietly work behind the scenes shying away from the spot light and find our purpose in cooking a meal, sending a note, hugging an infant, or working in an office or factory line sharing the love of Christ through a smile and lifestyle. Others of us, trudge the way, leading fearlessly, influencing through our words, and commanding attention. Either way, both lifestyles can drain our strength, commitment, and passion, if we operate in our own strength. The meal intending to bring comfort to the family who just lost a loved one can be just another "thing I HAVE to do." OR, the opportunity of sharing the love of Christ to a large group of people can raise the feeling "I HAVE TO prepare another message for another church, AGAIN".
This year I want to purpose to embrace each task, and walk in the Power of the Holy Spirit--NOT my own power.
The only way I've found the ability to do this is to quiet my heart before I begin my day:
1. Start with a simple prayer: Lord, speak to me before I even get out of my bed. Let me know your will. Help me as I walk through this day. Shorten my tasks. Empower me to serve.
2. Stay aware of your emotions. Make sure you're breathing. Ask yourself, Is my posture tense? Am I feeling overwhelmed? Am I drudging life? At various intervals, I pray again and ask for more strength.
3. Praise God. Thank him for His Holy Spirit. Thank Him for His Word. Thank Him that He is the One Who has called you and that He is the One Who will empower you.
4. Choose to rest in Him. Consciously choose to say I rest in you Lord. I will not be overwhelmed by the tasks set before me. I'll do what I can do through your help. And then relax, laugh, and embrace your day.
5. Take a moment for yourself. Sound selfish? Not at all. We will all be more effective if we take a little time to treat our self. For me, this can be a short trip to the local sonic for a sprite with lemon....mmmmmm....hey that sound's good now. Or taking 5 minutes to listen to my favorite song (Kari Jobe- Revelation Song)and just sit on the couch doing nothing...again for about 5 minutes...I find that in these short little treats a wonderful feeling of loving myself enough to take a breather occurs and I have more strength to continue on.
6. Finally, let go of what is unimportant. Choose what you are supposed to be doing. Again, ask God for the wisdom of what is most important. make a list and remember to Keep first things first. It's when I get things out out of order that I end up feeling frustrated and tired.
My prayer for you today...that you will find strength for each task, while resting in God's provision!

It’s funny how things change with age…
When I was in my 20’s I was full of zeal and pretty sure I’d be the next Billy Graham. In my late 20’s and early 30’s I became painfully aware of all my failures and short comings. In my late 30’s I settled into a strong awareness of just how awesome God is and that my job was simply to walk out the design He had for my life.
NOW that I'm 40 I've found a great peace...and discovered a truth that has been here all the time but that I just didn't recognize...Are you ready to hear it?Ok then... let it soak in.
When God gives us a promise…He's already seen it as though it was. After all He sees the past, the present, and the future. So when He tells us something, when He whispers His promise in our ear, or fills our hearts with passion and calls us to perform a task... He’s already seen it in it's finished form.
So, we simply need to come to a place of surrender, to the place where we discern not what we will or want...but what God wills for our life, and walk it out.
But how do you figure out what God's will is or His call for your life? By asking two simple questions:
The first? Simply ask. Lord what do you desire for my life?
I know profound right? But the truth is sometimes we over-complify what should be simple. God designed us. He has a plan for us. He's not sitting in heaven waiting for us to play Sherlock Holmes...He wants to reveal it to us.
As I parent my children, I make my expectations clear. I give them rules and guidelines to protect them. I make provision for them. And, I shower them with love. When they step outside of what they are suppose to do, I correct them and point them in the right direction. God parents us very similarly.
The second question needing asked is: "What gifts has God given me?" If you don't readily know the answer to this question, or you need more clarification, you can help answer this question by asking a few more, like:
i. What comes naturally to me?
ii. What open doors are in front of me?
iii. What brings me joy?
iv. What do I love doing?
v. What would I do if I could do anything (even if I never got paid for it)?
Scripture says God will give us direction and that if we lack wisdom we can ask and He will give to us liberally.
So...my advice? Ask. :)
And remember this, You ARE AMAZING! GOD HAS GREAT PLANS for YOUR LIFE!

A Life Anticipated...Lived Courageously
I am so excited about 2010! I can't wait to see what God does! I am filled with words of encouragement! Ok, I'm using one too many ! points, but I can't help myself.
Do you realize God anticipated our life? In the splendor of Heaven we were designed. We were intricately, masterfully, created. Our life was fahioned for a unique purpose.
Over the next 365 days I'm going to share inspirational verses, motivational thoughts, and my own personal stories and struggles in hopes of tearing down faulty paradigms and powerfully disarming fear.
Today's thought: You were destined for greatness!
Ephesians 1:3-14,
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment — to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession — to the praise of his glory. NIV
Since, we were fearlessly fashioned and daringly designed, let's purpose to live life courageously.
