What Can Prayer Accomplish?

Ever have one of those moments where your spirit seems hungrier than usual? Ever get to that place where (though you've fellowshiped with God) all of a sudden you need more of Him?

My heart longs to catch a fresh glimpse of Who God is...to touch the hem of His garment...to hear (again) His purpose and design for my life...to know where is He leading. I"d like to encourage you to join me this week...to not just pray...but PRAY...to not just listen...but LISTEN...to not just fellowship...but to enter into a greater communion with GOD.

1 Peter 4:7, "...be serious and watchful in your prayers." (NKJV)

I believe many of us stand at a crossroads today, facing crucial decisions...Want some good news? God has not left us alone. He has promised that we will hear his direction; Isaiah 30:21,"...your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." (NIV)

Some of you have been approaching God for a long time...searching for answers...interceding for miracles...DON'T GIVE UP! Prayer is powerful.

E.M Bounds writes, "Prayer is no little thing, no selfish and small matter. It does not concern the petty interests of the person. The littlest prayer expands by the will of God until it touches all words, conserves all interests, and enhances man's greatest wealth and God's greatest good. God is so concerned that men pray that He has promised to answer prayer. He has not promised to do something general if we pray, but He has promised to do the very thing for which we pray." (Thy Will Be Done, Pg. 13.)

So, what can prayer accomplish?

Prayer changes us...strengthens us...and aligns our thinking with God's. It moves mountains...repels the enemy...and invites the inexhaustible provisions and presence of God Himself.

Don't give up dear friend. God is near. He invites us to slip away with Him...and as we do we receive strength, wisdom, and hope.

PRAYER: Father, You are so amazing. Your love and mercy overwhelms us. We thank You for the privilege of prayer...Thank You that You listen. Change us. Strengthen us. Fill us with more of You. In Jesus name, amen.
