When you fall down, who is there to help you back up?

Can I just say I am absolutely married to the most amazing man in the world. Yesterday we celebrated another year of his life...he turned 41. Each year, I stand more and more amazed at God's wisdom in putting us together. We offer one another encouragement, strength, vision, direction, support, love, compassion, and a good ole kick in the "tater" when he...I mean...we need it...LOL. The truth is, my husband, Greg completes me.

It is so important to surround our lives with quality people...to develop friendships with people we can encourage, and to develop friendships where we receive encouragement.

ISOLATION is one of satan's key attempts to destroy our dreams and our lives. When we isolate ourselves, we fall prey to the lies that "no one else has ever faced this battle" or "no one else cares." Without friendships and accountability our dreams risk complacency and can die alone even with the best of intentions.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." NIV

This verse though often used in marriage ceremonies is applicable to our work place, our ministries, our families, and our friendships.

When you fall down, who is there to help you back up?

If you don't have a circle of friends you can think of readily...you need to start creating one. Purpose to be a friend. Look for the opportunity to encourage someone elses dreams. Make time to have lunch with the person you've been intending to. They need you and quite honestly...YOU need them!

If you have a circle of friends and a network of support...take time to let them know how much you appreciate them.

With that let me say, "Thank you. Thank you for joining with me on this journey. Thank you for reading this blog and posting your comments. Thank you for believing in me and encouraging me to extend the love of God through this ministry. Above all, thank you for just being you. God designed each one of you with amazing gifts. He's called you to be great mothers, fathers, employers, ministers, writers, speakers, sales people...and the list goes on. Your lives reflect Him. And I count it a privilege to call you my friend."

Prayer for Today: Father, bless my friends today. May they be surrounded with a network of people who love them and who encourage them to be all that You have called them to be. Help us to do and live Your design. Grant us Your favor. Prosper the works of our hands. In Jesus name, amen.
