Bills, kids homework, gymanastic lessons, taekwondo, work, clean the house, cook supper, make time for ministry...and the list goes on and on and on...
Sometimes life gets so busy that we tend to just do the next thing on our required to do list, seldom taking time to think about eternity, or what really matters.
But what if forever began today...what would your horizon look like? This thought either brings the sting of conviction or a sweet solace as we remember what should be the most important aspect of our lives.
Jesus promised, in John 14:2-4, "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going." NIV
We are loved beyond all measure. God’s love is more tender than a mother’s, more faithful than a brother’s, and more intimate than a lover’s; His love crossed the battlefield of pain, traversed through the trenches of indifference and pride, and stretched His arms wide, nailing the weight of our sin to its final death.
So, as you face the mundane list of all your necessary "to do's" remember...there is more to life than endless tasks. Take a moment to thank God for all He has done and ask Him for the strength to do all that you need to do without forgetting what is most important.
